After two successful editions in 2015 and 2016, the Green Summer Academy will take place again this year with a focus on Green cooperation, in particular among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, as those have many challenges specific to post-communist societies in common.

The Green Summer Academy 2017 aims to invite representatives from the Czech, Hungarian, Austrian, German and Ukrainian Greens to pave the way for possible common, transboundary or regional Summer Academies in the future. Moreover, the invitation of urban movements, NGOs, grass roots activists and other civil society stakeholders will reinforce direct cooperation and facilitate possible coalitions, common campaigns and mutual support.
The Summer Academy will tackle a broad variety of European topics, such as the success of far-right movements and dangers to democracy, women’s rights, trade policies, environmental issues, etc. in different sessions such as trainings, debates, plenary discussions, but also nature expeditions.

Summer Academy aims to create a platform to form new (political) collaborations and to strengthen the European network of Greens by bringing together representatives from various countries, in particular from Eastern and Central Europe.
