GEF promotes education and training and provides opportunities for building capacity and encouraging networking amongst Green actors across Europe. Our aim is to raise awareness among citizens about Green solutions to the challenges Europe faces, and to enhance the ability of young activists and Green actors to work on issues with a European dimension.
Within this field, GEF organises face-to face and online trainings to empower European citizens and raise awareness about Green solutions. We also organise networking meetings for and with our partner organisations to provide guidance for project development and educational opportunities as well as to allow for exchange of best practices and on partner’s training needs.
Projects such as the European Green Activists Training aim at adding a European dimension to the content of already existing trainings across Europe and creating a platform through which young people interested in politics can meet, learn and exchange. To empower more organisations to develop their own trainings for young activists and multiply the project’s impact, we have published the Handbook ‘Organising a European Green Activists Training Programme’.
Moreover, we have expanded our online training activities with the launch of ‘Impact Europe – Online Course for Green Activists’ to broaden the outreach and accessibility of GEFs training and networking opportunities.
Finally, our summer universities implemented throughout Europe in collaboration with national partners, complement our work programme by enabling Green-minded people to connect, and debate on inspiring political, social and environmental issues.
