» The GEF Mission
During the morning session of the Assembly, the on-going GEF projects on the Green European Journal, Green New Deal website and the European Citizens' Initiative were presented. The session was closed with a lively discussion on the upcoming GEF project on the future of the EU. Once again it became clear that a European level debate on this theme is urgently needed, particularly due to the current eurocrisis and growing euroscepticism. GEF will arrange discussions on the topic with national foundations in various European countries, in order to bring the topic more prominently on national Green agendas.
GEF Board re-elected
The General Assembly re-elected the Board of Directors, with one change in the composition of the Board: Susanne Rieger (Catalonia, Spain) replacing Daniela Graf (Austria) who did not stand for re-election. The General Assembly expressed its gratitude to Daniela for her commitment to GEF for the past 4 years. Susanne Rieger is board member and European affairs representative of the Catalan Green Foundation - Fundació Nous Horitzons. More on Susanne's expertise can be found here.
New Members of the General Assembly
Two new members have joined the Assembly: socio-economist Mike Mathias of the Luxembourg Green Foundation Gréng Stëftung (replacing Abbes Jacoby) and social and cultural anthropologist Susanne Puchberger of the Austrian Green Foundation Grüne Bildungswerkstatt (replacing Daniela Graf). A new associated member was also welcomed - political scientist Kostas Loukaris of the Greek Green Institute (replacing Alexandros Georgopoulos).
