Engaging with Europe

Europe impacts our lives on a daily basis. From energy policy to civil liberties, and from the Eurozone to agriculture, the decisions made in “Brussels” have a profound effect on our economy and society. While individuals are knowledgeable about how national politics works in their country, many are unaware of how the EU operates. This makes it hard for them to engage with Europe when it comes to these crucial decisions that affect their lives. At GEF, we work to educate Green activists about how to influence the EU, giving them the information and the resources to become politically active at EU level. By helping its citizens engage with the EU, we are ensuring a Union that is responsive, democratic and inclusive.

Our Partners.

National Green foundations, the Green Group in the European Parliament and the European Green Party are GEF's main stakeholders. National Green foundations are active in engaging citizens in political dialogue in their respective national contexts. Our European level stakeholders are partners in creating a European-wide Green debate. GEF aims to be a platform for exchange and co-operation at European level. Highlighting some of our partner foundations' news and events is a first step in enhancing this network and enabling exchange.
The Green European Foundation is the European level political foundation affiliated to the Green political family.
