GEF launch first edition of the Green European Journal
GEF has launched the first edition of its Green European Journal, which will feature articles relevant to the green movement from across Europe. The Journal will be published on a quarterly basis, with the website updated regularly with new articles on the latest debates in Europe. It is hoped that the Journal will play a positive role in creating a public space for Greens to debate issues that are essential to the future of Europe.

The aim of the Journal is to develop European-level dialogue among Greens, and so to help create a European public-space. The objective is to lift debate out of its national context, and allow green actors and thinkers to share their visions and ideas, and in doing so, create a more vibrant and progressive green movement.

The first edition focuses on the economic crisis in the EU, but also connects it to the democratic crisis, arguing that they are two sides of the same coin. With articles from respected commentators such as Jürgen Habermas and Alain Lipietz,  and on major issues such as the Portugese bailout and the democratic upheaval in Hungary, this first edition launches the Journal is provocative and essential reading for all European Green activists.

The Journal is available in online format only from www.greeneuropeanjournal.eu
