Surviving austerity - the Green response
To coincide with the 2nd edition of the Green European Journal, which is titled 'Surviving austerity - the Green response to austerity', the Green European Foundation will organise a panel discussion at the European Green Party meeting in Copenhagen on the topic, which will examine how the Green movement and Europe can emerge in a strengthened position from this difficult economic period.

Elections in France and Greece, and the forthcoming referendum in Ireland on the 'Fiscal Compact', are placing discussions about austerity at the centre of public debate. The forthcoming edition of the Green European Journal will be focused on this debate, with a range of articles critiquing the EU's approach so far and suggesting a 'green alternative'.

To coincide with this edition, the Green European Foundation will organise a panel discussion to coincide with the European Green Party Council meeting in Copenhagen, which will be dominated by discussions about the Eurozone crisis and the green response.

Speakers will include Philippe Lamberts MEP, Co-spokesperson of the European Green Party; Laia Ortiz Castellvi MP, Member of the Spanish Parliament for the Catalan Greens and Erica Meijers, editor-in-chief of the Dutch Green journal Bureau de Helling
