The Green European Foundation is looking for providers of communications services to support GEF in its efforts to professionalise their communications work. To this end, we are calling for tenders in the area oCommunications auditing.

About GEF

The Green European Foundation (GEF) is a European-level political foundation funded by the European Parliament. GEF is affiliated to but independent from the European Green Party and Green movement in Europe. Our mission is to encourage European citizens to participate in European political discussions and in particular, when it comes to envisioning what a Green Europe would look like. As a forum for cooperation at the European level, we work closely with our national member foundations and thereby aim to strengthen the Green political movement and green ideas in Europe.

Many of our projects and campaigns are therefore lead in cooperation with other green organisations, often in several languages. Currently our existing communications channels online are our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube), different newsletters for different audiences (partners / general / trainers and consultants), and our websites (the main GEF website, the green academy website, and the greenr website). We are also slowly starting to investigate online advertising spaces and offline communications related to network coordination.

The current GEF styleguide (developed in 2017) may be found here (palette and fonts) and here (photos and visuals).

About this call for tender

We are seeking a partnership with a provider of communications audit services in order to gain a better understanding of how GEF and our messages come across to external audiences, and what needs to change in our communications in order for us to better reflect who we are and what we are doing.

To support GEF’s recent growth, the communications team is aiming to further professionalise its communications work, as part of our new communications strategy. In preparation of the upcoming development of a new brand identity (which will be the responsibility of another service provider), we are seeking providers to perform an external communications audit. The audit will serve to formulate conclusions in order to develop a well-thought-out brand identity.

We would like to conduct a communications audit comprised of two parts. Part one will be conducted internally by GEF staff, and will include surveys amongst the closer green family network (partners).  Part two shall be conducted by a service provider (following this call for tender), and will conduct a focus study amongst an external audience to GEF to develop a concise, yet clear and exhaustive picture of how we come across as opposed to how we would like to come across. The communications audit should include work such as commissioned focus group studies and surveys to establish how externals outside of the GEF network perceive our messages, image and tone.  The conclusions of the communications audit will ultimately form a basis for recommendations for our graphic designer – who will be in charge of developing a new brand identity for GEF -, and for our further work on refining our organisational tone and editorial line.

GEF will be providing a contract lasting for 3 months, with a budget of 3000 Euros.
