Join us in exploring how local governments are effecting changes for sustainability and social equality, drawing inspiration from Green and urban movements across Europe!

Event Background

This event is the first in a series of events to be held across Europe as part of the 2019 transnational project Cities as Places of Hope in the European Union.

The project aims to bring together progressive and transformative translocal city networks, connecting them and facilitating their exchanges, ultimately contributing to a positive narrative for the future of Europe.

 About the Event

This public event taking place in Madrid, Spain, will build upon the discussions that took place at the 2018 Summer School Univerde X Edition held in Madrid, which explored the role of cities in pushing for sustainability and social equality in Europe.

Held with the support of GEF partner Fundación Equo, the event will showcase how local governments across Europe can effect change, examining real-world examples of such European networks, like C40 Cities and Refugees Welcome.

Speakers

  • Florent Marcellesi, MEP Greens/EFA
