The Green European Foundation supports innovative approaches to economic sustainability in Europe and together with our European and national partners we aspire to contribute to the transition towards a green economy.

Green economy has been a core area of work for the Green European Foundation since its beginnings. Under the headline of the Green New Deal, a full series of studies has been developed between 2009 and 2014, addressing several aspects of this vast program of transformation of the economy: green jobs, state aid, the financial system, etc.

Regional approaches and national case studies have also been a constant focus of the foundation, including through an innovative project started in 2015 in the Balkans. Finally, GEF is active in the avant-garde of the reflection on the creation of a society and the functioning of an economy beyond GDP growth.
