GEF promotes education and training and provides opportunities for capacity building and encouraging networking amongst Green actors across Europe. Our aim is to raise awareness among citizens about Green solutions to the challenges Europe faces, and to enhance the ability of young activists and Green actors to work on issues with a European dimension.
Within this field, GEF organises face-to face and online trainings to empower European citizens and raise awareness about Green solutions. We also organise networking meetings for and with our partner organisations to provide guidance for project development and educational opportunities as well as to allow for exchange of best practices and on partner’s training needs.
European Green Activists Training
Projects such as the European Green Activists Training aim at adding a European dimension to the content of already existing trainings across Europe and creating a platform through which young people interested in politics can meet, learn and exchange. To empower more organisations to develop their own trainings for young activists and multiply the project’s impact, we have published the Handbook ‘Organising a European Green Activists Training Programme’.
GEF-Learning.eu is a meeting space for citizens from all around Europe interested in developing their skills and knowledge on European and green topics. Learn from top Green experts, politicians and activists and, why not, contribute to the knowledge library with your own content.
Through GEF Learning, the Green European Foundation and its partner organisations provide free access to education and capacity-building on green topics, while bringing Europe closer to its citizens.
We started expanding our online training activities with the launch of ‘Impact Europe – Online Course for Green Activists’ to broaden the outreach and accessibility of GEFs training and networking opportunities.
Finally, our summer universities implemented throughout Europe in collaboration with national partners, complement our work programme by enabling Green-minded people to connect, and debate on inspiring political, social and environmental issues.
Capacity Building for Green Organisations
Over the past decade, GEF has built expertise in capacity building as integral part of its work programme through online courses, face-to-face trainings across Europe. In this spirit, our conferences ‘Education for Europe – building capacity towards and beyond 2019’ and ‘Fundraising Training: Projects on Migration, Refugees & Asylum‘ are just the two examples of a platform for political discussions on the role of training for advancing activism.
