ECOPRO (Ecological Production in a Post-Growth Society) is an ongoing transitional project that started in 2015. With this project, we aim to structurally nourish the discussion on a post-growth society, by exploring different pathways for development, which can contribute to a profound transition towards social-ecological production.

« Sustainable Work for All in a Post-Growth Society » is the central theme of the ECOPRO project for the year 2016. The current aim of this evolving project is to put forward the Greens narrative on the post-growth economy, with a special focus on the role of work within it. This project aspires to enable the further development of the Greens’ front-running approach in the field of the « work of the future » (sustainable jobs), with a particular consideration of “working beyond the job” (as more than paid work). Moreover, the project seeks to stimulate the labour-perspective with feminist, care and gender divisions.
The participants of the project are eight national foundations from different regions and different Member States of the European Union — namely, Austria, Spain (Catalonia), Croatia, Finland, Belgium, United Kingdom, Hungary and Ireland.
This year’s content of the project, with it particular focus on the sustainable work, evolved as the successor to the ECOPRO subject in 2015. Last year, it addressed the « Ecological Production in a Post-Growth Society » that explored pathways towards ecological production as part of a sustainable economy that enables low-carbon and fosters equality within society. A framing paper from 2015 is still available in English, Spanish and French, along with theGreen European Journal article that explains the ideas behind the ECOPRO project last year.
