SUMMARY:Green Debating Room
DESCRIPTION:The year 2017 will witness several European parliamentary and presidential elections\, whose turnout are not only of major importance to the respective countries\, but are also expected to have great influence on the overall political direction of the European Union. In this context\, GEF hosted the ‘Green Debating Room’. \nIn accordance with GEF’s mission to contribute to the development of a European public sphere\, where European citizens can engage in a political dialogue to shape decisions taken at European level\, this event gathered Members of the European Parliament\, diplomatic representatives from France and Germany\, think-tanks\, as well as representatives of Green foundations from all over Europe\, the European Green Party\, and guests from other political families. \nA panel debate took place followed by questions from the audience. Speakers at the event included: \n\nDaniela Vincenti\, Editor-in-Chief of Euractiv;\n Marc Olivier Padis\, Director of Studies\, Terra Nova think tank; \nReinhard Bütikofer\, Member  of  the  European  Parliament (Greens/EFA)  and  the  Co‐Chair  of  the  European  Green  Party  (EGP).\n\nLocation: Renaissance Hotel\, Brussels\nDate: 7th March 2017\nTime: 11:00 – 13:00
