Green Perspectives on European Peace and Security

About the event

As part of this webinar, we will analyse various Green perspectives on peace and security currently present at the European level. The webinar is mainly but not only based on a mapping of green policy stances that GEF and its partners are conducting with the support of the think tank GRIP.

Together with the panellists, we will discuss different perspectives present at the regional level, with a particular focus on prevailing views in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia. We will consider how the history and experiences of this region should feed into any green conception of peace and security, today and in the future.

Project background

This event is a part of Green European Foundation’s Green Visions on European Security project, which aims to explore how the Greens could adopt the necessary tools to understand contemporary conflicts and develop mechanisms to anticipate, avoid, respond to, and terminate them. By facilitating a frank discussion on key tension points and vacuums, across historical, geographical, and national sensitivities, and with political ecology values at its core, GEF and its partners contribute to the green movement’s reflections and anchoring of an updated vision on security and defence.
