This European Youth Conference took place from the 19th to 21st of May in Belgrade. The event was organised by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung and the Green European Foundation, in cooperation with Share Foundation (Belgrade) and Institute for Political Ecology (Zagreb).
At a time when the European Union faces numerous obstacles, this 13th edition of the Green European Journal explores the forces of integration and disintegration at play today in Europe. An exploration, in sum, of the tectonic shifts occurring beneath the surface. As a new political landscape emerges and as tensions between retreating and openness in Europe appear, the question is: what is the purpose of European integration and where is it leading?
Green European Foundation is organising a number of Summer Universities in 2016 on a variety of topics. These educational events are hosted throughout Europe, in collaboration with many national Green partners. This year's programme reflects the ongoing social, political and environmental issues within the European context and it provides relevant analysis of national case studies. Green European Foundation organised a launch of the book "Green Values, Religion and Secularism", which took place during the Council of the European Green Party, on Friday - the 20th of May at 14h00 in Utrecht.
We hosted a workshop in Barcelona on the 6th and 7th of May, as an opportunity to discuss the ongoing refugees and asylum policy crises in Europe. The event was organised by the Green European Foundation, in collaboration with Fundació Nous Horitzons.
GEF organised the launch of this book, together with the Green Foundation Ireland. The book features conversations with European politicians and activists on the issues around religion and how it intersects with public and political life.

National Green foundations, the Green Group in the European Parliament and the European Green Party are GEF's main stakeholders. National Green foundations are active in engaging citizens in political dialogue in their respective national contexts.
Our European level stakeholders are partners in creating a European-wide Green debate. GEF aims to be a platform for exchange and co-operation at European level. Highlighting some of our partner foundations' news and events is a first step in enhancing this network and enabling exchange.
