In conversation with… Green Leaders from the Balkans
This year, we are introducing a new session format to the European Green Academy. In Conversation With… sessions offer a unique opportunity to connect with some of Europe’s leading Green and progressive actors in an intimate and informal setting.
In these cosy gatherings, speakers will share their personal journeys, experiences, and motivations. You will get the opportunity to ask questions and gain deeper insights into the lives and work of inspiring leading actors who are at the forefront of pivotal struggles for the future of Europe.
Speakers:
Jelena Miloš, Member of Parliament, Možemo
Jelena Milos is one of the founders and an executive board member of Možemo!, a progressive green-left political platform in Croatia. As a current member of the Croatian Parliament, she also serves as the chairperson of the Committee for European Affairs. She has extensive experience in strategic organizing, having worked in both Croatian and international trade union federations. As one of the founding members of Možemo!, she has helped shape and develop the platform since its inception. Her work focuses on key issues such as just transition, labor and social rights, housing, and fostering social and economic convergence.
Radomir Lazović, Co-Chair Zeleno-levi front, MP Serbian National Assembly
Radomir Lazović is co-president of Green-left front and the head of the parliamentary group “Green – Left Font, Ne davimo Beograd” in the Serbian Parliament. He was born in 1980 in Belgrade. He has been active in the civil sector for more than 12 years, working at the Institute for Urban Policies, and organizations in the field of cultural policies; urban development; civil, political and social rights; democratic innovations and media. He is a co-founder and long time manager of Belgrade’s Street Gallery, and during his career as a cultural worker, he has taken part in creating and running several cultural centers in Belgrade. From 2015 to 2017, he was the president of the board of directors of the Association of the Independent Cultural Scene of Serbia.
Vedran Horvat, Managing Director & Head of the Institute for Political Ecology
Vedran Horvat is author, journalist, researcher and activist. He works as the head of Zagreb based Institute for Political Ecology since 2015. He is the member of the board of directors of Green European Foundation and associate of the Amsterdam based Transnational Institute. From 2005 to 2015 he worked as the director of Heinrich Böll Foundation office in Zagreb and was a member of the managing board of National Foundation for Civil Society Development (2012-2017). He is founder of the Green Academy, an advanced program of education in political ecology and one of the organizers of the 9th International Degrowth Conference held in Zagreb in 2023. He is regularly publishing and speaking on the topics of climate crisis, democratic innovation, postgrowth and the commons.
