Magid Magid, Founder & Director, Union of Justice

Magid Magid is a compassionate disrupter. He is a Somali-British author who came to the UK as a refugee aged five. He is the Founder & Director of Union of Justice. He was a member of the European Parliament representing Yorkshire & the Humber, Mayor of his beloved city (Sheffield), and an elected councillor representing his community. He sits on the Board of Trustees for the EU think tank ‘Friends of Europe’, the arts university ‘The University of the Underground’ and is Chair of the refugee charity ‘Safe Passage International’. Magid was named one of TIME’s 100 Rising Stars Shaping the Future of the World, One Young World Politician of the Year, European Young Leader and recently received an honorary doctorate from the University of York. Magid is also a custard connoisseur.

Amber Amoo-Gottfried, Campaigns & Communications Associate, Union of Justice

Amber  is a climate justice advocate and emerging designer of learning journeys towards social change. They are a beVisioneers Fellow with global “learning by doing” organisation ‘The DO’, a Board Trustee for nature-connection collective ‘The Visionaries’, and a freelance facilitator of learning spaces for intersectional climate action. As Campaigns & Communications Associate for Union of Justice, Amber is working to embed racial justice in climate advocacy and action-planning on the European level. Amber also delivers civic leadership programmes under the Greater London Authority’s ‘Communities & Social Justice’ portfolio, through their work as Learning Networks Coordinator at Koreo Ltd.
