GEF’s EU Policy Day at the FYEG Summer School

July 26 - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

How do policies shape the Europe we live in, and how can young Greens influence them? Join us in Puck this July for a deep dive into EU policy-making, green priorities, and social justice at the GEF EU Policy Day  at FYEG’s summer camp.

About the event:

GEF’s EU Policy Day is a one-day EU policy course contribution to the Federation of Young European Greens’ (FYEG) annual summer camp in Puck, Poland, organised by the Green European Foundation. Taking place on 26 July 2025, this training is designed to provide young Greens and activists with essential tools and knowledge to engage with European policy-making and connect it to their work on the ground.

The training offers a blend of formal and non-formal education methods, featuring input from policy experts, campaigners, and trainers. Through interactive formats such as panel discussions and workshops, the day will focus on linking policy literacy with Green values, exploring what it means to push for a green and social Europe in today’s political climate.

Participants will gain a better understanding of how EU institutions function, how policies are made and implemented, and what role young people and grassroots actors can play in shaping them.

Project background:

This training is part of GEF’s ongoing commitment to capacity building and youth empowerment within the European Green family. In a context where climate action is stalling and social rights are under pressure, it’s more important than ever to equip young people with the tools to defend democratic and sustainable futures. This one-day training contributes to that mission by demystifying the European policy process, encouraging critical engagement, and fostering peer learning.
