Doughnut Economy in Polish Cities, Utopia or Political Project? [PL]

Description: What would the Doughnut economy look like in the Polish context? During this session speakers will discuss this economic model and share examples of how it has been implemented in other cities such as Amsterdam. Speakers will also discuss what barriers could be encountered while executing this model in Poland, especially in the final stretch of the 2023 Polish parliamentary elections.

 

 

Speakers: 

  • Ewa Sufin-Jacquemart

Sociologist and former diplomate, Ewa is an active advocate of green values in Poland. She is President of the Board of the Green political foundation Strefa Zieleni, member of the Board of the Green European Foundation and member of the Board of the Women’ Congress Association.

 

 

  • Przemysław Sadura

 

Przemysław Sadura is a professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Warsaw. He is also the founder, former president and now chief expert of the “Field of Dialogue” polish NGO established to support public participation and facilitating dialogue. He is a member of the editorial team of Krytyka Polityczna (Political Critique) and head of the research institute in Krytyka Polityczna. His fields of interest are sociology of politics, of education, social inequalities, climate policy and energy transition.
