Are you intrigued by the concept of a sustainable city? Wondering about the key aspects and actionable steps needed to transform urban areas into vibrant, eco-friendly communities? Then Join us for this training!

About the event

In the European Union, 70% of the population lives in cities and therefore,  80% of all GDP is also generated in cities. This concentration also brings forth numerous challenges, including rising forced displacement, traffic congestion, and increased levels of noise and air pollution stemming from vehicular activities. EU cities have accumulated a wealth of experience in tackling these problems paving the way for the concept of compact cities. This training session welcomes all individuals interested in gaining insights into sustainable urban development, exploring key considerations, and understanding policy avenues for achieving sustainability.

Project background

This event is part of the Green European Foundation`s Green Political Activist Training Project.  We put together a series of trainings and seminars which aim to help participants to understand the concepts of political ecology and apply those to both local and European-level politics. We will examine policies and policy proposals on various levels, hence, local currents as well as the European Green Deal. Our goal is to prepare participants for both assessing and advocating policies in line with progressive green values. Moreover,, we aim to help young green activists by offering them tools and knowledge, as well as an opportunity to network, get in contact with political actors and experts on multiple levels and come together as a political community. It is essential for us to help like-minded movements and actors connect in order to help the political ecosystem flourish.
