Description: This workshop will tackle the consequences of the restrictive abortion law in Poland, seeking to situate Polish debates on reproductive autonomy in the broader CEE context. It gives voice to an activist and feminist perspective and asks questions on solidarity, resistance and change

Speakers: 

  • Karolina Więckiewicz 

Lawyer and legal activist focusing on abortion and sexual health issues. Cooperates with numerous NGOs, coalitions, networks and informal groups working on the advancement of sexual and reproductive rights in Poland and in Croatia. She is also a member of the Legal Group at the Transfuzja Foundation (since 2014) helping transgender people, author of many articles and analysis on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights issues and an artist making messages on abortion into embroidery (@abortion_embroidery on Instagram).
