Brīvības un solidaritātes fonds (BSF)

The Freedom and Solidarity Fund (BSF) was established in 2007 with the following goals:

  • Strengthening civil society.
  • Promoting the mutual solidarity of generations, genders, different social strata, nationalities and other types in society.
  • Explaining social democratic ideas and values.
  • Strengthening democracy in Latvia and beyond its borders.
  • Strengthening organizations and structures of a social nature.
  • Cooperating with ideologically related political parties, associations and foundations in Latvia and abroad.

BSF is engaged in organizing educational events on current political issues. To achieve the goals, BSF organizes discussions, conferences, seminars, lectures and informational events, as well as publishes publications. In its activities, the foundation focuses on the academic environment, which must prepare serious proposals for the public authorities, in order to achieve more effective and better solutions in raising the state’s well-being, promoting social justice and creating a successful, modern society in Latvia.
