GEF promotes education and training and provides opportunities for capacity building and encouraging networking amongst Green actors across Europe. Our aim is to raise awareness among citizens about Green solutions to the challenges Europe faces, and to enhance the ability of young activists and Green actors to work on issues with a European dimension.

European Green Activists Training

Projects such as the European Green Activists Training aim at adding a European dimension to the content of already existing training sessions across Europe and creating a platform through which young people interested in politics can meet, learn and exchange. To empower more organisations to develop their own training for young activists and multiply the project’s impact, we have published the Handbook Organising a European Green Activists Training Programme.

Green Learning

www.mygreenlearning.eu is a meeting space for citizens from all around Europe interested in developing their skills and knowledge on European and green topics. Learners have the opportunity to learn from top Green experts, politicians and activists, and even contribute to the knowledge library with their own content

Through this platform, the Green European Foundation and its partner organisations provide free access to education and capacity-building on green topics, while bringing Europe closer to its citizens.

Summer Universities

Our summer universities implemented throughout Europe in collaboration with national partners complement our work programme by enabling Green-minded people to connect, and debate on inspiring political, social and environmental issues.

Capacity Building for Green Organisations

Over the past decade, GEF has built expertise in capacity building as an integral part of its work programme through online courses and face-to-face training sessions across Europe. In this spirit, our conferences ‘Education for Europe – building capacity towards and beyond 2019’ and Fundraising Training: Projects on Migration, Refugees & Asylum‘ are just two examples of our role in supporting the development of activism.
